Biography: Doris E. Middleton was born on August 29, 1940 in Beaufort, South Carolina. She was the fourth child born to the late Julia Legree and Richard Middleton.
At an early age, she moved to New York City, where she attended the public school system at JHS 136 and Commercial High School from which she graduated at the age of 16. She excelled in her career as a medical secretary until her retirement.
In the late 1950's, she united with Harold Miles and from that union, she had four children and five blended children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Miles, Sr. and daughter, Theresa Miles.
She was affectionately called Grandma Doris by many and loved by all who she came in contact with. Everyone wanted to be around Grandma Doris. She was everyone's go-to person.
Doris was well known for her style, grace and class. She was the epitome of elegance and an inspiration to all. She was truly blessed with such a loving spirit. Her acts of kindness will never be forgotten.
She leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Doreen, Gilda and Donna; one son, Harold Miles, Jr.; two sons-in-law, Joe and Thomas and her four blended children, Mary, Danae, Collette and Cheryl.
She also leaves to cherish her memories: nine grandchildren, Natasha, Mercedes (Kareem), Danae, Michael, Shantai (Maurice), Josette, Keyana, Tiffany and Jordan; eleven great-grandchildren, Jeda, David, CJ, Erin, Gregory, Bryce, Kendall, Ariah, Isaiah, Laila and Skylar; three brothers, George (Alma), Richard (Barbara) and Cecil (Cathy); three sisters, Lucille, Julia (Nathan) and Sharon (Andrew) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
