Biography: Garneatha Williams was born December 23, 1937, in Fork, South Carolina, to the parents of McKeaver McClellan and Vernetha McClellan. She was the oldest of twelve children.
She was baptized at a young age and continued to follow her Christian belief. She eventually moved to New York City and joined the Mount Neboh Baptist Church as a young woman. She worked for many years at the company Estee Lauder for 30 plus years before retiring. Garneatha will truly be missed by all who knew her. She had a winning smile and made everyone who crossed her path feel special. She had such a giving and contagious personality.
On Thursday, May 30, 2018 in the morning at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, N.Y.; with her daughter Gloria J. Williams, witnessed the miraculous transition as God’s angel escorted her mother into the Master’s arms. Her beloved parents then five of her siblings preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her three children: Robert L. Hodge (Utica, N.Y.), David L. Williams Jr. (Seattle, W.A.), and Gloria J. Williams (Bronx, N.Y.). Also nine grandchildren, Roberta, Brittany, Janya, Robert Jr., David III, Jasmine, Jahlil, T-Andre, Hiyana; six great grandchildren, Dai’Neshia, Nasean, Kenai, Ryleigh and Ezra; siblings Ann(Bronx, N.Y.), Horace (Bronx, N.Y.) Patricia (Randy) (Bronx N.Y.), Sammie (Bronx, N.Y.), Irma (Norfolk ,VA) Ola (Laurel, M.D.) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends.
