Desiree LaNiece Macon-Galara

Desiree LaNiece Macon-Galara

05-26-1959 - 06-28-2018

Biography: Desiree LaNiece Macon-Galara was born May 26, 1959 to Renza and Gloria Jean Macon. As the oldest daughter, she encouraged her sisters and all of those around her to always stay positive, do their best and God will take care of the rest.

At an early age, Desiree, affectionately knows as “Desi”, was baptized and a faithful and active member of the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she remained until she relocated to New Jersey.  After completing her education, she pursued the work force and was employed on Wall Street for over ten years where she met and married the love of her life, her husband Cedric Galara.

On Thursday, June 28, 2018, God decided best that her life journey on earth was fulfilled and welcomed her home.
She leaves to mourn: her father, Renza Macon; loving and devoted husband of thirty years, Cedric Galara; two cherished daughters, Chanelle Macon and Courtney Galara (Jon); four sisters: Tanya Macon-Ellis (Hal), Deirdre Macon, April Grove (Willie) and Keisha Macon; three precious granddaughters: Janiyah, Brooklyn and Jordyn; along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and great friends.

A sincere and loving thanks to her three nieces: Shatema, Tiana and Natalie who loved their aunt to the moon and back and would do anything and everything for her always and forever.

A heartfelt thanks to Gwendolyn Gardland, cousins by blood, sisters by heart. God made them cousins, Lord knows their parents couldn't handle them as sisters. She is truly a special person who always tries to give. If there's a need, she lends a helping hand wherever she can and we are
forever grateful.
