Biography: Agnes Ione Bowdwin-Johnson was born at Harlem Hospital on January 11, 1939. She passed away at North West Hospital on July 7, 2018 at 10:09PM. She went to be with the Lord our God, her mother Eugenia Bowdwin, her father Viggio Bowdwin, Sr. and her brothers: Auturo and Viggio Jr., at the age of 79.
 
Agnes Johnson marveled in the field of Social Work for over 30 years! She attended New York’s prestigious College of Human Services, Fordham University and Touro College. She worked as a social worker for 25 years at the Bureau of Child and Family Services in New York City, before relocating to Maryland where she continued her crusade at A.C.S.-Assocation for Children’s Services-Field Office in Washington, D.C.
 
After retirement, Agnes Johnson continued to be an active leader and role model in her community. She was the outspoken member of the Maryland Senior Citizens Center, and a guiding force on the Community School Board Planning Association. Agnes loved creating crochet designs, quilting and knitting with her crafts circle. She encouraged sharing information with others, fighting worthy causes, remaining true to yourself and always be the best that you can be!
 
Agnes Bowdwin-Johnson is survived by: her three daughters: Katherine, Kathleen and Terriene; her sister, Phyllis and her brother-in-law, Cornelius. She is lovingly rememeberd by her grandchildren: Tshawn, Tyshean, Kayais, Kassim, Kasshawn and Treshawn; and her great-grandchildren: Tamia, Terrell, Tiara and Tyshean Jr.; and a number of nieces and nephews: Arturo Jr., Berlinda, Kurt and Tracey.
