Jonathan McAllister Sr.

Jonathan McAllister Sr.

07-25-1957 - 07-06-2018

Biography: Jonathan David McAllister Sr., was born on July 25, 1957 @ Queen General Hospital in the borough of Queens to Hortense  Carosa McAllister.  Jonathan was doted on as an infant especially by his mother.  Jonathan was gravely sick as an infant and we all had a soft spot for him.

Jonathan was educated in the New York City school systems and attended Brandeis HS.  Jonathan worked construction, he worked for Beth Israel Hospital and then he found his niche driving for  ambulette companies.  He worked for Community Ambulette Co. and then for Avet  Ambulette Co.  Jonathan loved helping people and was compassionate.  Jonathan was considered one of the best drivers .  Jonathan also secured positions for other drivers.  Jonathan could drive anywhere. Once he had been there he could always go back again.  He didn’t only know New York he knew the Tri-State Area like the back of his hand.

Jonathan loved sports. That was his favorite outlet. Jonathan could have been a professional baseball player however, the lights seems so much brighter elsewhere.  His mother would say to him “You know John, your just like a bad boy.

Jonathan wasn’t perfect but he was made perfect in the Lord. He loved his church and he loved his new Pastor Rev. Dr. Johnnie M. Green Jr.  The late Rev. Richard  Watkins is credited for baptizing Jonathan and officiating  his wedding .  “Dutch” as we affectionately called Jonathan from his youth would come into the dining room on Sunday morning and proclaim “It’s a Good Day for the Lord”.

We his family loved him dearly and anyone who knew him loved him dearly. His huge presence and sense of humor will be missed forever.

Jonathan is preceded in death by his Mother Hortense Carosa McAllister, Brother, Charles Anthony McAllister, and niece Doreen Letrice Cohen. He leaves to mourn him: His Children:  Tondelia, Audrey, Nadia, Jonathan Jr. Sharena Hortense, Darell, Liam and Doreen.  Daughter-in-Law DeAndra Ross.
