Khalil Johnathan Lyons

Khalil Johnathan Lyons

07-30-1995 - 07-13-2018

Biography: Khalil Johnathan Lyons was born on July 30, 1995 and was called home July 13, 2018. He attended LaGuardia High School where he graduated.

Khalil had a passion for working on cars and liked playing basketball, soccer, video games, singing, dancing and hanging out with his friends. He was a dedicated husband and father to his kids.

Khalil had a smile and laugh that would light up the room and was always known to be the life of the party. He valued his friends and treated them as if they were family; he was always very protective of those he loved. He was what you would call a true definition of a warrior. He always stood tall and strong and he feared nothing but leaving his family behind.

Before leaving this earth, Khalil accomplished many goals. He was athletic, having been on the Junior Knicks Basketball Team and receiving a gold medal for the 100, 200 and 400 meter races. He was also an Actor in the Little Explorer Program, a Youth Counselor at YMCA and a Coral Speaker. He participated in the suicide watch team, received his OSHA Certifications, interned for a 2018 Congressman and was employed by the MTA.

Even though at this time we are facing a tragedy, we have to be strong and not mourn his death, but celebrate his life. It was all a part of God’s plan and his legacy shall live. God called one of his angel’s home and now he’s in Heaven under his beloved grandmothers wings.

He leaves behind: his mother, Cathy Lyons; mother-in-law, Lavern Cade; father-in-law, Matthew Johnson; Godfather, Paul Gibbons; his wife, Joergana Lyons; the mother of his son, Charlette Wynn; children: Makai, Kayden and Khaliyah Lyons; stepdaughter, Myla; grandparents, Mona Lyons and Carl Daniels; great-grandmother, Doreta Bartum; uncle, Jeremy Benoit; great-uncles: Osbert, Terence, Lawrence, and Larry; great-aunts, Sheila Walters and Lorna Alfred; relatives of the Grace’s, George Phillips and a host of other close relatives and friends.

My condolences to the family on the loss of your loved one. Losing someone you love is truly difficult and I know Khalil will be missed. Please know our Heavenly Father holds out promises that can help us with our sorrow. One such promise is that death soon will be done away with forever (Revelation 21:4) and another promise is that "there is going to be a resurrection." (Acts 24:15). I pray these promises from God, who cannot lie, (Titus 1:2) brings you comfort. For more comfort from the Bible visit www . jw . org
