Biography: Helena Williams of Manhattan, New York was born to the late Amos Fortune and Mazarine Sumter on October 14, 1942 in
Timmonsville, South Carolina. In her early days, she moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she was educated in the Baltimore School System.
 
In the early 1960’s she moved to Manhattan, New York where she met her husband Curley William Sr. Helena was a devoted, loving wife and mother who always put the interest of others before
herself.
 
Helena worked as a nurse at Mayflower Nursing Home for many years. She also was a very devoted and active member of the church.
 
On the morning of August 22, 2018, Helena was called home to join her late brother, Amos Fortune and sisters: Mary Alice, Flora, Estella and Sue.
 
Helena leaves to honor and cherish her memory: husband: Curley Williams Sr.; sons: Curley Jr. and Johnnie (Regina); daughters: Loretta, and Lenore; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, cousins and friends.
