Biography: Teshawnie Mattie Brown, affectionately known as “Shawnie:, was born February 18, 1866 to the union of Danfield and Kathalina Brown in Bronx, New York. Proud mother, loving sister, caring wife and dear friend. Our angel entered heaven’s gates on October 7, 2018

Teshawnie was a proud mother of three. Her oldest son is Daniel Bess, only daughter Shamein Chapman and youngest Jahmel Brown-Chapman.

Teshawnie accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized at First Grace Baptist Church in New York. She worked hard at this church to become a member and was very proud of her accomplishments and efforts at the church.

To know Teshawnie was to know strength. She had a battle with breast cancer and defeated it. She loved helping others and dedicated her time to raising money for breast cancer and awareness.

She was a hard-worker and proud employee of Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center where she worked for seventeen years comforting patients and even saving a few lives.  She was also a New York City employee to which she worked for twenty-seven years. She helped bring joy to the lives of others with her bright smile and contagious laugh.
