Biography: Clary Mae Boyd was born on February 22, 1941 in Dorchester, South Carolina to the late Oliver Mason and Georgia Canadate Mason. She received her education in Branchville, South Carolina. She met and later married the late Sammie Lee Boyd Sr. After several years they moved to the Eleanor Roosevelt Houses in Brooklyn, New York to raise their children.
 
Clary was a homemaker and caregiver. She enjoyed preparing Sunday dinners for her family. On holidays, she would listen to oldies but goodies music and make her delicious sweet potato pies for all to eat. She adored and cared for her children and grandchildren. Everyone loved going to Grandma's house.  To know Clary was to love her. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. For all her good deeds she will truly be missed.
 
Clary was loyal, trustworthy, loving, devoted and a caring woman. Most importantly, she loved her family to the fullest.
 
Clary was preceded in death by: her husband Sammie Lee Boyd Sr.; sons: Oliver, Sammie Lee Boyd Jr. And Joseph Boyd (Joyce); daughter, Clara Boyd; brothers: Nathan, Curley and Lorrie Mason; sisters: Eartha Britt (Bobby) and Carrie Mason; grandson: Terrell Nelson Boyd; longtime friend Linvel James and step-daughter Brenda Anthony.
 
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her daughters: Elaine, Lilly, Shirley, Thomasina, and Katie Boyd; step-daughter, Olga Price; sisters: Rose Ann Little (Willie), Mary Perry and Dorothy Calloway (Marvin); brothers: Thomas Green (Emma), and Wallace Mason; brother-in-law; Clay Cee Boyd, sisters-in-law: Josephine and Linda Boyd; grandchildren: Tyrone (Tawana), Kisha, Tanya, Angela, Jamel, Ebony, Tyreese, Darnell, Shirley Ann, Khaliyah, Jahlil and Kayla; sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends
