Biography: Dorothy Wilhelmina Poole, also known as “Mina” was born on July 25, 1942 in Harlem, New York. Mina was the daughter of Doris Reed and the late William Poole.
 
Mina received her formal education from the Charles Evans Hughes High School and Bronx Community College. On her journey, Wilhelmina met and fell in love with the late Clovis Hillaire. Their union produced a son, the late Andre Clovis Hillaire. Mina enjoyed being a mother and Andre was her pride and joy.
 
Mina worked in a variety of fields and retired from the New York City Police Department. She enjoyed life and traveled extensively to manydifferent places of the world. Mina was a pillar of generosity to her family and friends and there was nothing that she would not do for anyone. Mina prided herself on quality and her favorite quote was "you get what you pay for".
 
Mina departed this world on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, after showing the strength of a lion and enduring many years with muscular dystrophy. Mina accepted the Lord as her Savior and by faith she fought a great battle to the end.
 
Mina was preceded in a death by her only child Andre and her sister Carol. She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Doris Reed; two sisters, Deborah Cornell and Tammy Reed; one brother, Furman Reed; two aunts, Luvienia Grier and Christine Bragg and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
