Biography: Irving Darius Knight went home to be with the Lord on November 16, 2018 at the Kings Harbor Multi-Care Center. He was born on December 16, 1932 in Harlem, New York to Ismay and John Knight. He was educated in the New York City School System. He worked various jobs until he could no longer work.
Irving was kind to people and loved to take pictures. In St. John Episcopal Church he was an alter person and took care of the church under the leadership of Bishop Bryan.
Later, Irving became a member of the New Mount Zion Church of God under Reverend Morgan where he went on to become a Deacon. He later joined Richardson Memorial Spiritual Church where Reverend Allen was the pastor. In his senior years he joined the First Grace Baptist Church where Reverend Kendricks is the pastor.
Irving was preceded in death by: sisters, Lucille Margaret McDonald, Violet Colvil, Mary Evans and Sylvia McNeal; and brother, James Knight.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 35 years, Gladys Knight; sons: Darius and David Knight; a loving sister, Salome Hill Knight; a loving sister-in-law, Pearl Morris; other loving sons and daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
