Biography: George Hampton Jr. was born on February 22, 1959 to the parents of Hattie and George Hampton Sr., in San Diego, California. He is the 1st of 7 children.
George Hampton Jr. attended elementary school in Beaufort, South Carolina, where he was raised to the age of 13, by his maternal grandmother, Mary Heyward, who proceeded him in death. He attended high school in New York City, where he lived with his mother and stepfather, James Newton Jr. He began playing football at an early age and was offered a college athletic scholarship, which he declined. He later began body building, winning many competitions throughout the city.
George obtained employment and has been working ever since, with his last employment being at Metropolitan Museum of Art. He was a hard worker and took pride in his work, until his passing on Thursday, December 6, 2018

George enjoyed watching football, fishing and spending time with Gracie and his 4 children. Even while in the hospital, he made sure that the TV was on College Football as he yelled, “roll tide" when Alabama made their final touch down.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving mother- Hattie, his stepfather- James, life partner Gracie, 4 beautiful children- Maliq, Ebonnee (Evelyn), Jacobb and Branden. 4 sisters- Elaine (Alfredo), Stephanie, Patreese (Chris) and Jamie (Orlando). 2 brothers- Marlow (Nathalie) and Craig. 3 Uncles- Mr. Edgar White Sr. and Pastor Henry White (Rosetta) (both who helped raise him) and Roy Williams Sr. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, cousins who were like his siblings and friends. 2 special friends- Kevin (long time friend) and Walter (co-worker). George also had a very special relationship with the Yanetti/Hernandez family (Gracie), where they accepted him as their brother, uncle, cousin and friend and he loved them the same.
