Biography: James Branch Jr. was born in Memphis, Tennessee to the proud parents of James and Luberta Branch on November 6, 1928. He was the first of three children: Mae Catherine and Roosevelt.
James attended Porter Elementary School in Memphis, Tennessee. Later, the family moved to New York City and resided in Manhattan. James attended Washington Irving High School in Manhattan. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he fought in the Korean War.
James moved to Detroit to get a job in a jazz band. James hobbies were cooking gourmet food, reading and listening to jazz music.
James lived life to the fullest. He is survived by: his sister, Mae Catherine and a host of nieces and nephews.
