Biography: Lois Starks was born on May 5, 1938 in Winston Salem, North Carolina to the late Lawrence and Odessa Starks. Lois attended Carver High School where she graduated.
At an early age, Lois moved to New York City. She gained employment with the New York City Health Department where she worked for 30 years.
Lois became a member of the Mt. Neboh Baptist Church shortly after arriving to New York. She was a member of the gospel choir. Later, she joined First Emmanuel Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Mary Freeman.
Lois leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Harry Starks and Kenneth Phillip; three grandchildren: Bristol Lide, Tanneeka Brown and Warren Brown; seven great-grandchildren, her goddaughter Shasha Boyd, her extended family, China Diamond and Billy; and a host of other relatives.
