Biography: Inez was born in Princess Anne County (Virginia Beach), Virginia on July 10, 1918 to Johnnie and Elnoria Russel Woodhouse. Inez has one sister, Beatrice and five brothers: Bernard, John, Leon, Oscar and Alexander. She attended Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, Virginia. After graduation, Inez worked as a switchboard operator. She soon made her journey to New York where she worked as a telephone operator.

Upon arriving to New York, Inez became a member of Mother African Methodist  Episcopal Zion Church where she served many years as a missionary until her health would no longer permit. After knowing Inez for a short period of time, you would become keenly aware of her unwavering faith and would surely have witnessed her testimony of the goodness of GOD. She loved people and enjoyed laughing and entertaining her friends. On any given day, Inez would visit several Senior Centers providing entertainment to all. Many found her exuberant and sassy personality captivating.

Inez outlived all her siblings and a few of her nieces and nephews. Inez had a special niece in Yvonne Mebane Henry whom she loved as a daughter. They shared most of their life experiences together. Yvonne passed on December 12, 2018 and Inez could not understand life without her.
Inez is survived by: her nephews: Leon Woodhouse, Calvin Woodhouse and Robert Woodhouse; nieces: Jacquelin Woodhouse Thompson, Mary Woodhouse and Alfreda Woodhouse Gordon; in addition to a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.

There are many neighbors and friends who cared for Inez and treated her like family. She loved them all, especially Mr. and Mrs. Goodson. They adopted Inez into their family, giving her extraordinary love and support.
