Gregory L. Caswell

Gregory L. Caswell

01-14-1963 - 04-01-2019

Biography: Gregory Leon Caswell, was born on January 14, 1963, in Manhattan, New York to Keil and Bernice Caswell.  He was the eldest of three boys that would be birthed out of this union.  Gregory was educated in the New York City public school system, receiving his High School Diploma from Martin Luther King High School.

On July 14, 1990, Gregory married the love of his, Durelle, who he affectionately called “Mona”.  Although there were no biological children that came from their union, the LORD saw fit to bless their lives with four beautiful God-children, in which Gregory was the devoted God-Father of them all: Lequawn, Solay, Jahziah and Madison.

In his younger years, Gregory attended the Shiloh Baptist Church, where he was taught the word of the Lord at an early age.  In 1992, Gregory accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, along with his wife at the Garden of Prayer Church, under the leadership of the late Bishop Billy Robinson.  In 1999, while residing in Greenville, South Carolina, he was baptized in Jesus name.  A few years later, following his baptism, Gregory decided to return to New York and later became a member of the Kingdom Life Temple Church, where he served under the leadership of Dr. Thomas S. Cooper, Jr., until the LORD called him home.  Gregory was a man of great faith and served in excellence on the Hospitality Ministry, until health issues arose.  Gregory loved his ministry, loved his pastor and had a desire to serve on the Kingdom Cares Food Pantry Ministry.

Gregory was employed at Terrance Cardinal Cook Nursing Home in the environment Service Department for many years until 2012, when his health superseded his ability to work.  Throughout it all, Gregory never gave up on God.  Through sickness and affliction, his heart for God and God’s people remained and he often ministered to the young men in his community telling them about Jesus Christ.

On Monday, April 1, at 11:37am, Gregory answered the call from God and his journey in this early vessel had come to an end.

Gregory leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Durelle Caswell; his mother, Bernice Caswell; two brothers, Anthony and Corey Caswell; Mother-In-Law, Brenda Ewell; two brothers-in-law, Sean Sr. & Theodore Grant; two aunts, Zelma Caswell and Nellie Cooke (Seaborn Cooke); one niece, Chyna Grant; two nephews, Sean Jr and Kamel Grant; and a host of relatives, friends and a church family that truly loved him.
