Biography: Lottie P. Nottingham was born in Eastville, Virginia on July 7, 1932 to the late Chester Nottingham and Sadie M. LaGrange.
At an early age, the family moved to New York where Lottie attended school and graduated from Washington Irving High School with honors in dressmaking and dress design course for four years. She also was a life member of the Dressmaking and Design Alumnae Association.
Upon graduating from high school, Lottie worked at an insurance company for several years. After employment at the insurance company, she obtained employment at Macy’s in their payroll department as a garnisher clerk. She worked at Macy’s for more than thirty years and retired in 1993.
Lottie was a seamstress who LOVED to sew and made clothing for herself and anyone who desired the gifting in her hands. Within her desire for fashion, Lottie also had a creative gifting for finding beautiful clothes for bargain prices.
Lottie was an outgoing person who loved to socialize with family and close friends. She enjoyed being with family and we will remember the wonderful times over the years we had with her at birthday parties, holiday gatherings and especially New Years Eve Celebrations.
On April 3, 2019 at 6:10AM, Lottie transitioned into eternity.
She is survived by: her cousin-sister, Katherine Denny (Bill); her cousin-niece, Denise Whitehead; her Godson, James P. Hill; her aunt, Sallie P. Rivers of Springfield, Massachusetts; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
