Biography: Hervann Bean was born to the proud parents of Magiola and Sam Bean on March 23, 1950 in Pace, Mississippi. She received her education at the H.M. Nelum School in Cleveland, Mississippi. She graduated with a high school diploma.
Hervann relocated to New York at the age of 18. She moved to Manhattan between 125th and 5th Avenue before settling between Morningside and Amsterdam.
She worked as a diamond setter and auxiliary officer. She gained employment at the Woodhull Hospital as a dietary aid until she retired.
Hervann enjoyed watching westerns and doing puzzles. She was a member of LaGree Baptist Church until they closed their doors.
She met and married Ernest Knight with whom she shared over 25 years with.
Hervann leaves behind: her daughter, Mona Lisa Marrero; two sisters: Elmira Bean and Barbara Branda; husband, Ernest Knight; grandchildren: Charnay Martin and Ivan Marrero-Smith; great-grandchildren, a farm full of nieces and nephews and a tribe of cousins.
