Biography:
James Lawrence Register was born June 7, 1937 in Whiteville, North Carolina, son of the late James B. Register and Beulah Penny Register. He departed this life on December 29, 2017 at the Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, New York surrounded by his loving family.
At an early age, he attended Diamond Branch Public School and was a graduate of Central High School in Whiteville, North Carolina.
James joined Diamond Branch Baptist Church in Whiteville, North Carolina at an early age and attended Sunday School. He entered the US Navy from which he was Honorable Discharged. He was the proud father of a multitude of children who loved and worshipped him.
James is proceeded in death by his parents; his siblings, Hattie Mae Register, Ida Mae Register, Mae Helen Cokley, Hazel Register, Martha Ann Register, Magelene Register Addison and his grand daughter, Enycia Register.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his devoted daughter, Angelina Register of the Bronx, New York; his son, Anthony Duffy of the Bronx, New York; his other children, James register, Robert Rodriguez, Benjamin Rodriguez, Inez Goodwin; his loving sister, Martha Smith; his brothers, Robert (Hilda) Register, Burley (Domell) Register, Frederick “Luke” Register, Anthony Register and Larry Register; nineteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
