Biography: Louis James Anderton (Diamond) began his journey of life on November 30, 1957 in Harlem, New York to the late Mildred Louise Anderton and Horace Clifford Anderton (Rico).
He attended PS84 in Harlem, where his school teacher Mr.David Shapiro who took an interest in Louis and went the extra mile to ensure Louis received a fair education. As a good guy to many, he loved to dance, have fun and follow his older brother Horace into boxing. He loved sports, including karate, riding his skate board and a six foot unicycle. He joined the Joe Ramos Tumbling team at the Goddard Riverside Community Center.
Louis won the best creative Halloween costume contest with Mr. Sowell, the candy store owner on Columbus Ave and 89th Street. He dressed up as a derelict everybody was amused and Mom was happy she did not have to buy him a costume. He was a diamond in the rough who was stylish, loved to wear various hats literally and figuratively.
Louis married Leslie Mitchell, in that union they had two beautiful daughters, Erica Salenea Mitchell and Jessica Rose Anderton. He also has a handsome son Michael Beasley with Angel Paris Beasley. Louis was called home on October 1, 2019. He leaves to cherish his memories his two sisters Saluda Venzella Anderton and Darlene Ruth Anderton, two brothers Wayne Rico Anderton (Tracey) and Robert Mixon (LaQuasha) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
