Biography: Reflections on the Life of Darien J. Brown
Darien Jenna Brown, known to many as “Mama”, was born on June 26, 1998 at the Allen of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital to Darius Brown and Rhonda Morrison. Darien was born and raised on 152nd St where she grew up and was truly loved by everyone who knew her.
Darien was educated throughout the New York City Public School System. She attended Westside Montessori school where she was tested for specialized schools and scored on the 98 percentile of children her age. She attended PS 129 with her brothers and she attended two high schools, A. Phillip Randolph and Westside High where she graduated.
Darien was a great basketball player with true love for the game. Lebron James was her favorite player! She enjoyed working for the Starbucks Corporation and Pelaton. She had a mean side hustle as a PARTY Promoter! She had so many friends.
Darien was baptized under her mother's guidance in 2010 along with her siblings at Saint Luke's AME Church.
Darien is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Lewis and Dorothy Brown.
Darien is survived by: her parents, Darius Brown and Rhonda Morrison both of New York City; Five siblings: Heriberto (Boobie), Jeffrey, Deja, Darius Jr. and Jalen; Six Aunts: Saundra, Yvette and Sheila (North Carolina), Danielle (Arizona), Raquel and Romain; One Uncle, Stephen of New York City; Maternal Grandparents, Rodney and Quanda Morrison of New York City; One Niece, Adria (North Carolina); Cousins: Ryan and Rylee Frances, Chase and Brooke Garcia and Kymane of whom she had a fond love of, all from New York.
Darien also leaves to mourn a host of other relatives and friends whom she was loved by dearly. Lets not forget her dear and devoted friend Barry Mamadou.
