Inetha Rock

03-26-1926 - 04-06-2020

Biography: I, Inetha Rogers Rock, was born in Cross, South Carolina to the late Izora Jones Rogers and the late Frank Rogers on March 26, 1926. I was the sixth child of twelve children; I attended Cross Elementary School and high school at J K Gourdin School.

I got baptized at the age of fifteen at Hickory Hill Church in Pineville,  South Carolina.

I got married to Isaac Rock in 1946 and became the mother of twelve children, seven boys and five girls. I came to New York in 1952 and joined   Southern Baptist Church later in 1976. I joined the New Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend E.L Satchel as I was the      President and member of the Christian Education Ministry, Chorus, and South Carolina Ministry, Noon Day Pray Group, and the mother of the Church.

I, Sister Rock, was a faithful member and servant on many occasions in New Mount Zion. I love my church but most of all I love the Lord and I am crazy about my Gospel chorus. Talk about a good time, singing trouble in my way.

I wanted to hear ‘I pray to service Jesus’ and ‘The Lord loves me’.

As the Lord has called me home to be with my children, I am now watching over a host of family, friends, associates, church members, and lovely people I have met along the way. At the pearly gates, I am greeted by Frank and Izora Jane Rogers, my five sisters, Viola, Estalla, Sarah, Ronell, Ruth, my four brothers, Lawrence, Sam, Alex and Benjamin. I am happy to finally see my five Children, Geraldine, John, Bernard Jerry and Sharon. I can finally hold my baby, One Grandchild Jerry Jr.

I have left my throne to seven children, Evelyn (James) Singletary, Ella Anderson, Ernest Rock, Ray Rock, Christopher Rock, Marshall Rock, and Inetha Y Rock (Qadir).  My unconditional love will always be with my Twenty Four Grandchildren, Thirty Eight Great Grand children, twelve great great grand    children, and one great great great grandson. My laughter and warming support will always be with my honorary grandson Japeth and my honorary daughter Ruth. My heart and spirit flows through my Sister Susan (Sammie) Nelson and my Brother Frank (Emma) Rogers.
