Joyce Diane Mobley was born November 8, 1949 in New York, New York, the daughter of the late George and Helen Glenn. She was the widow of her beloved second husband Herman Jones. She is survived by her two daughters, Yvonne and Marsha, from her first marriage to Thomas Mobley.
Joyce was a very strong and independent woman and anything she set out to do was ultimately accomplished extremely well. Joyce worked in finance for over 30 years and then in real estate for 20 years. Joyce was a wonderful cook and willing and able to fix anything that needed fixing in her home. She loved watching home fix-it shows and cooking competitions. Her favorite outing was to the Home Depot where she could investigate both small and large home improvements and repairs she could make.
Joyce was well known as a straight shooter who told you exactly how she felt and her honesty was felt by many. Her words came from an authentic place of love and support. She loved her daughters and grandchildren dearly and would have done anything for them. She was a wonderful and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt and friend to many. In addition to her daughters, she is survived by her adored grandchildren, Myasia, Shamar and Kimora, her brother Wayne and her two nephews Julian and Matthew. May the Lord give strength to his people!
