Joyce Louise Stanford was born in Belize City, Belize. Her mother, Ann Lamb had 6 children: Frederick Lamb, Christabell Lamb, Zelma Clear, Alanston Clear and Gilmore Clear and with Joseph Stanford she had Joyce on July 19, 1931. Joyce later attended Catholic Schools in Belize. She was very smart.
Later in life, Joyce met Phillip Burgess. They later married and had 4 children: Clinton, Norman, Sandra and Phillipa Burgess. Joyce loved all her children and wanted the best for all.
She moved to New York, leaving Belize in 1963. She was able to live her life to the fullest over the years. Joyce made plenty of memories with her children and grand children and other family members and friends.
Joyce who some called “Jays” or “Grandma” was a very nice person with a beautiful smile and heart. Joyce is now sitting in Heaven; all of her siblings; also her 6 grandchildren: Charlene and Sarah from her son Clinton; Robert and Raymond from her daughter Sandra; Garett and Lisa from her daughter Phillipa. All who are gone but not forgotten.
Joyce was truly loved by everyone. She also touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all. She leaves to mourn her passing: her children, Clinton Burgess, Norman (Claudette aka Star) Burgess, Sandra (Walter aka Goldie) Burgess-Sabastian and Phillipa (Edward) Burgess-Lynch; 20 grandchildren, 57 great grand children; 8 great great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
