Biography:
Reflections of Life
Everett Alexis Lee, Jr. was born to the union of the late Everett Alexis Lee and the late Agatha Sprauve in St. Thomas Unites States Virgin Islands on August 17, 1946. He was affectionately called Bobby by his family and friends. He received his education from the New York City Department of Education.
He served in the United States Army and was given an honorable discharge as a soldier for his service.
He was employed as an Institutional Aide by The Department of Homeless Services for more than 17 years. After retirement, his passion for the homeless led him to offer financial blessings to the community for those in need. He often expressed his emotional distress for those that were homeless and had to live on the streets.
Everett’s life would change for the better once he became a father to his two wonderful children, Yolanda Fredericks and Antonio Lee.. His love for them has always been strong and he was proud to have them. He was intent on being more involved in their lives as time went on to give them guidance and to always inform them of his love.
In 1980 he met his future bride to be Delita Lee and became stepdad to her two daughters, Cammece and Tamika. In 1991 they were married and as God would have it, they became the parents to their son Everett Lauren Lee III who is now an ordained minister at Bethel Gospel Assembly.
He leaves to mourn: his wife Delita Dubose Lee; his sons Antonio Lee , Everett Lee III, son-in-law Kenneth Lettsome; daughters Yolanda Fredericks, Cammece Williams and Tamika Lettsome; daughter-in-law, Essence Lee; his brother Ronald Lee and sister-in-law Catherine Lee; sisters: Lorna Penn, Lois Mills, Diana Hawkins, Denise Holmes, brother-in-law Richard Holmes, Oliva McGruder and a host of beautiful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Everett Alexis Lee Senior and Agatha Sprauve, brother Morris Bruce Hawkins and two sisters, Kathryn Hawkins and Gayle Yancy.
He accepted the LORD as his personal Savior at Bethel Gospel Assembly in the 90’s and later rededicated it back to him in 2019. Everett yearned to live his life to the fullest serving Him.
He will always be remembered for loving to sing, dance, laugh and recording music; especially the oldies but goodies of the 60’s and 70’s and anything Marvin Gaye. He had a passion for fitness, exercising and he loved to walk instead of taking public transportation and it resulted him in being physically fit. His family loved his homemade dumb bread and bread pudding. He was well organized and his punctuality was excellent. Everett will truly be missed.
