Biography:

Betty Jean Abrams (a.k.a. Betty Boop) was born on February 18th, 1944, in Harlem N.Y. to Ora Pearl Wallace and Harry Wallace (both preceded her in death). She had one sister Fanny Johnson and brother Leon Wallace who also preceded her in death.
 
Bettys formal education was in the NYC Public School System, not completing school she went on and acquired her G.E.D. in later years. In 1971 she met and married Allan Alfred Abrams who (preceded her in death) they were married for twelve years. Betty was interested in education and always seeking out new avenues of advancement which led her to attending and graduating from Wilfred Academy earning her license in cosmetology in the early eighties. After years as a beautician at Virginias Beauty Salon then on 127th and Lenox Ave, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant in the nineties. Finally retiring from NYCHA at Lincoln Houses as the Executive Secretary in 2006. The College of New Rochelle is where she graduated and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in 2001 maintaining 4.0 GPA the whole four semesters. She completed every task she ever endeavored and received whatever diploma or certificate awarded.
 
Betty joined White Rock Baptist Church in Harlem N.Y. in the late eighties and was a cherished member until her ill health did not permit for her to continue to go to church anymore but she supported the church through her tithes and offerings given gladly. Betty loved to cook and loved to eat just as much having an excellent palate she was in favor of tasting all types of food from many different cultures then learning to recreate the recipe herself or improve on it with her special twist.
 
Always a passionate and considerate person and friendly to all she encountered, she was also a terrific grandmother and great grandmother, she was ever willing to add more to her fold, being called Aunt Betty by all her friends’ children. Betty was in ill health for many years until her transition from her earthly body and the constant pain on Friday, January 30th, 2022, at 8:17 pm when God gave her rest.
 
Betty leaves to mourn her passing daughter Karen Wallace, Two Grandchildren Shania Monet Guy, Jared Vaughn Guy, Three Great Grandchildren Fuquaan Powell Jr., Isaiah Guy, Jamyla Guy & Son- in - Law Dexter Guy. One Niece Tia Scott, Nephews Tyrone, Gregrory and Gary Scott.  Beloved Friends Cheryl & James High, Goddaughter Jasmine High, Angelo Williams, Sarah & Slyvia Johnson. And a host of other people who loved her and that she loved also.
 
The family would like to thank everyone who has supported our family in this time of sorrow and will extend a thank you later.
