Biography:

Cora Summers was born on November 27, 1937 to Adam and Eniss White in Reeseville, South Carolina. Cora met and married John Summers and they moved to Harlem. From their union, they had three children: Stenie Summers (deceased), Renee Corbett (deceased) and Jacklyn Summers.

Cora and John attended Bronx Community Baptist Church. Cora and her five sisters created a gospel group – The Six Sisters and sang for the church and other functions with a lot of soul food. Cora also worked at Beth Israel Hospital until she retired with distinction. Cora loved her children and family and enjoyed having family functions with a lot of soul food.
Cora was the baby of twelve, so her sisters and brothers spoiled her in many ways. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. During her short illness, she was cared for by her daughter, Jacklyn.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, her two daughters, her grandson-Curtis, and her sisters: Bertha, Mamie, Mable, Eartha May and brothers: Nathaniel, Albinee, Dennis, McCray, Frank, and Albert. Cora is survived by her daughter Jacklyn, her sister Eula Lee White-Bishop, and her grandchildren: Javone, Jimmy, Andre, Dawn and Brian, three great granddaughters, three great grandsons and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
