Biography: On August 20, 1938, Charles Homer Millender was born the third of five children to the late Minion and Dollie Strayhand Millender of Talladega, Alabama.  He completed middle school in Talladega prior to the family's relocation in New York City in 1952.  He completed his education at Chelsea Vocational High School where he studied Auto Mechanics.  Upon graduation from High School, Charles was drafted into the United States Army where he served as a Marksman for two years before being honorably discharged.

He immediately began working in the food industry as a Butcher, where he met and married Lorraine Lloyd.  They raised three children, Anthony, Michael and Michelle.  Charles retired after 47 years as a Butcher.  Charles was affectionately known as "Jocko" and enjoyed bowling, spending time with family and was an avid die-hard New York Mets Fan.  In 2019, Charles and Lorraine relocated to Upstate New York.  "Jocko" maintained his "straight-no chaser" attitude until his passing in 2022.

Charles leaves to mourn, his wife Lorraine, two sons Anthony and Michael (Jacqueline), daugher Michelle, grand children Craig (Nicole), Christopher, Jacob and Malia, sibilings Larry (Inez), Geneva, Mailory (Jacqueline) and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
