Biography: Ms. Dana Louise Powell was born in Manhattan. She grew up in Hempstead, New York. She also went to school in Hempstead, New York. Dana was born on November 4, 1966. Dana went home to be with her Lord on August 27, 2022.
Dana was an advocate and a Peer Educator for Women's Rights. Dana attended and volunteered at Iris House, St. Mary's, and Harlem United where she was always active in assisting those who was less fortunate than her.
She leaves to mourn, her children: LaShanta Smoot, Elizah Smoot, Desmond Powell, Tanisha Dickerson, and Donica Powell, Her sisters: Cynthia Hamilton, Barbara Hamilton, Laura Winley, and Hyacinth Pearson, and her brother: Stewart Herbert Powell. Sixteen grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
