Biography: Rosalie Madison, the daughter of the late Clarence and Emily Madison was born on April 10, 1930, in Summerton, South Carolina. She departed this life on September 6, 2022, at the age of 92. 

She received her education at Scotts Branch High School in South Carolina and at the age of 18 she traveled to Harlem, New York where she became a permanent resident. 

Rosalie worked a variety of jobs throughout and eventually was employed by the former Stanhope Hotel. She worked in the house keeping department for over 20 yrs., and she re­mained present until her retirement as the head of house­keeping. 

Post retirement, Rosalie started babysitting her great grand­daughter and even took on some of her neighbors kids to help. Her home was a safe haven for many kids. Her hobbies consisted of watching basketball, eating good food, and spending time with love one. 

She was preceded in death by her three children: Valerie Madison, Gwendolyn Moore and Gregory Jones. And due to their untimely deaths, she went on to raise her two grand children Davon Moore, and Tiffany Jones. She will forever be known as a strong as she persevered in the face of adversity. 

Rosalie will be remembered as a tough gal with a very big heart, her energy, discipline, and independence, Those who knew her loved her because of her fighting spirit. In her own way, she would share her wisdom and nurture those who were in her presence. She was the true definition of an auntie, mom grandma and friend. 

She leaves to cherish her memory: her grandchildren Tiffany and Davon; two great-grandchildren: Noah Moore and Daisha Moore; one great-great grandchild: Aubree Moore; two sisters, Dorothy Parson and Romell Holiday, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who brought great joy to her life
