Biography: David Spencer Irvin was born August 13, 1960 to Shirley Irvin. He was raised in New Orleans and later moved to New York at the age of 10, with his mother. He was loved dearly by Jordan and Jasmine Way and his life partner Ginell Walker Way. He is survived by his loving sister Sasha White, brother Sean Harris and his niece Chloe. He enjoyed deep conversations with his Uncle Charles, Aunt Etta and Uncle Louis.
Dave graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School in 1980. He attended Bronx Community College where he received his Associates degree in psychology. He also attended Lehman College where he earned his CASAC certification to counsel those with Alcohol and Substance abuse issues. He enjoyed helping those in need with mental health and dependency issues.
Dave always had an intense thirst for knowledge. As a counselor, he supervised “at risk” teens at the Catholic Guardian Society Group home. He also worked at Project Return, the United Cerebral Palsy for teens with developmental and mental impairment and North General Hospital. Dave was always known for holding at least two jobs at any given time. He was a dedicated employee, who always wanted to make a difference in his client’s life.
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and watching basketball or boxing matches. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed attending the annual New York Car Show to view the new car options and styles, for the coming year.
On May 11, 2018 the angels called Dave home to rest. He will be dearly missed!
