Biography:
And I heard a voice from heaven saying “write this: BLESSED ARE THE DEAD WHO DIE IN THE LORD FROM NOW ON, BLESSED IN DEED”, SAYS THE SPIRIT, THEY MAY REST FROM THEIR LABOUR, FOR THEIR DEEDS FOLLOW THEM:” Revelation 14:13.
We stand here today, filled with pain, sorrow, and tears to read this solemn biography of our late brother, father, cousin, and friend, whose mortal remains lie before us, Joseph Sinclair Tufuantsi-Abraham.
Joseph Sinclair Tufuantsi-Abraham was born on Saturday 7th March, 1936 to Mr. Joseph Sinclair Tufuantsi-Abraham and Madam Dorothy Hagan of Apam, both from the Central region of Ghana, and all of blessed memory. He was the fourth child of the siblings of 12.
Joe, as we affectionately called him, was bigger and stronger than his age, hence became the leader of the boys amongst the siblings. Joe started his elementary education before age 5 at Bedu-Addo School in Takoradi. On completion of his elementary education, he was enrolled into Aggrey Memorial Secondary School at Cape Coast. After successfully completing his secondary education, he was employed at the Shipping Masters Office at Takoradi where he worked for a very long period.
He later resigned from his employment at the Shipping Masters Office, and formed a company with some friends, commenced a stationery company, selling books to schools and other institutions.
There came a time that the government took over the supply of books to schools, so he changed his trade, and went into textile trading. He operated in that for a while, and then travelled to the US to seek greater pastures.
Joe was baptized into the Methodist faith, and worshipped at the Bethel Methodist Church in Takoradi till his departure to the United States of America.
He left behind three children, Gilbert in the UK, Joseph in Ghana, and James in the US.
Joseph, the family shall forever remember you. Fare thee well, and may your gentle soul rest in peace.
