Biography: Jennie Louise Wooden was born in Harlem Hospital on March 14, 1956.  She and her 7 siblings were raised as Catholics by two wonderful parents. Jennie attended P.S.175, JHS 136 and Charles Evan Hughes High School respectively. 

It was at JHS 136 where her talent and passion for singing was discovered.  She was chosen to lead the all girls Glee Club in a brilliant rendition of "Ave Maria". Some of her school mates who remembers those days, still talks about the concerts.

Jennie also had a sincere passion for taking care of the sick and the elderly which lead her to a career in Home Health Aide and Nursing.  Jennie later became a Social Worker at SUS where she retired.

Recently, Jennie's health began to deteriorate and she complained about flu-like symptoms. She was called to her Lord for everlasting peace and comfort.  Her beautiful smile and joyful laughter will be truly missed by her family and all those she encountered.

Jennie leaves behind to celebrate her life, her only child, Marvin Burton, 5 Grand children, Khalil Taylor, Ashley Burton, Makayla Burton, Makenzie Burton and Majdi Burton, 1 Great grand child, Adien Burton, 4 siblings, Dan Wooden, Mary Satterwhite, Vera Wooden and Anthony Wooden, 3 nieces, Katrina Wooden, Sheron Singleton and Ashanti Waldo, 2 nephews, Shawn Bethea and Anthony Wooden Jr., 1 brother in-law, John Bethea, 1 sister in-law, Carolyn Wooden, as well as, a host of friends.

Rest in peace Jennie!  We will always love you but we know God loves you best!
