Biography: With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, daughter, and friend, Maria Fapohunda, who earned her angel wings on March 9, 2025, at the age of 65. Though her time on earth was unexpectedly cut short, the love and impact she left behind will remain everlasting.

Maria was born on February 5, 1960, in Lagos, Nigeria. From a young age, she radiated warmth, compassion, and an unwavering strength that would define her life.

Though she gave birth to three children, she was a mother to many. After losing her own parents, she took on the responsibility of raising her siblings, ensuring they completed their education and had opportunities to thrive. Her love extended even further when she adopted her niece and nephews after the loss of their parents, embracing them with the same selfless devotion she showed to all.

Maria’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into raising us all, teaching us the values of kindness, resilience, and unconditional love. She was a pillar of strength—always putting others before herself, always ready to lend a helping hand.

Her love knew no bounds. Whether through her involvement in the community, her dedication to her family, or the simple joy she brought into everyday life, Maria left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her laughter, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Julius Fapohunda, whom we know welcomed her into paradise with open arms. She leaves behind her cherished children: Akinyemi,Taiwo, Kehinde, Dare, Damilola, Hassan, along with her many siblings and their children, who will continue to carry her legacy of love and compassion.

Though she is no longer physically with us, Maria’s love and light will forever shine through the lives she touched. We love you always and forever.
