Biography: Miss Lorraine “Bonnie” Moses was born on January 28, 1954 in New York City to the late Arthur “Spok” Moses and Daisy Halley Moses. Lorraine was affectionately called Bonnie by many and was the only child. She received her education in New York City public schools. She went home to be with her heavenly father on March 15, 2025.
Bonnie was reared in a Christian home and became a member of Carolina Baptist Church at a young age. Bonnie had several jobs in her early working life. She was employed by Falco maintenance as an accountant and worked at Pathmark Supermarket as a cashier.
Bonnie’s passion was always playing piano/organ at many different churches. Carolina Baptist Church, St. John Baptist Church, Zion Baptist Church, Friendship Community Church, Meek Baptist Church and Mount Sinai Hospital. She also played for Mickey’s Funeral Home. Bonnie’s passion as a little girl and to adulthood was taking care of kids and helping and feeding anyone in need. Even though she did not birth any children, she was a mother and big sister/cousin to many. She loved playing the piano/organs for her church family and friends.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Daisy Moses.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her favorite aunt Pearl Wilson of Bishopville, South Carolina; dedicated cousin Kevin Johnson of Rembert, South Carolina; church sister Brenda McGrit of New York City; and a special friend for over two decades, Vanessa of New York City and a host of family and friends who will miss her very much.
