Mother Corita D. Graham

03-27-1931 - 09-14-2024

Biography: Mother Corita Delores Graham (better known as “Rita) was born on March 27, 1931 in Glade Springs, Virginia to the late Virginia Edwards and Frank Edwards, Sr. She was born the middle child of three other siblings.

Corita attended The Glade Spring School for Children until her late teens after moving to New York City with her parents and three siblings. Once in New York, Corita followed her passion for helping the elderly and becoming a private home health aide worker while also being the best mother anyone can ask for.

Corita met and married her late husband and from that union she had three children. Later in life she met the love of her life Anderson Cameron, Jr. and from that union two children were born.

In the early 70s, Corita joined the New Bethel Way of the Cross Church of Christ where she was a devoted member and a PROUD usher.

Rita’s past time hobbies included jigsaw puzzles and caring for her plants!

She enjoyed watching her soap operas and her game shows (you couldn’t tell that lady she wasn’t on Jeopardy and The Wheel of Fortune every night). She also loved listening to country and gospel music.

Rita had the most infectious laugh. Once she got started, she would have us all laughing and we wouldn’t even know why we were laughing. Later on she became a diehard Yankee fan (we don’t know how that happened). She would gloat when the Yankees won, especially when they beat the Mets because that was Tito’s team. She was special to a lot of people and the past few days showed us that. She was a selfless person that wanted for nothing, but to make sure those around her were good. She was a blessing and our matriarch. We loved her but God loves her best.

She was preceded by her parents Frank and Virginia Edwards, her son James Nicholas Graham, her sister Isabel Edwards and her only brother Frank Edwards, Jr.Corita leaves to cherish in her loving memory: four children: Michael

Graham, Cherokee Graham, Anderson Cameron III, and her one and only beautiful daughter Cindra Cameron; son-in-law Andre Graham; grandchildren: Alysha, Crissell, Devon, Jaiden, Corina, Mia, Kevin, Cherokee, Cheyenne, Nyasia, Champaine, Kenyatta and Michael Rashamel; her sisters: Dorothy King and Michelle

Edwards; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
