Biography: Darryl Williams was born in the Bronx, New York on October 2, 1965, to the union of the late Arthur Williams and Maggie Lee Williams. He departed this life on November 7, 2024. He was preceded in death by his sister Ardella Drake , Brother Arthur Williams Jr., and Grandmother Leah Williams. Darryl was united in Holy Matrimony to Cynthia Kelly.
Darryl was a lifelong resident of the Bronx. He was educated in the New York City Public education system. He was a graduate of job corp.
Darryl was affectionately known to his family and friends as D2. From childhood to adulthood D2 was always trying to make an honest dollar. As a child, he got up early in the morning to sell newspapers, and at night he ran errands for the residents who didn’t want to go out to the bodega or number hole. Even up until his untimely passing, D2 was selling merchandise to his fellow residents.
D2 was a confidant, and friend to many both young and old. The senior citizens loved him because Darryl always showed respect towards them. He was a great person to have as a friend. Because he was the friend that friends could rely on. He was loved and respected by all those whom he encountered. Darryl was more than a neighbor. He was a part of the community and the community was a part of him. Darryl was never afraid to embrace and express his love and care to those around him. Most important of all he gave love freely without expecting anything in return.
D2 never stressed with the problems or conditions of the world. With his witty attempt at humor, and his support and understanding, Darryl had that unique ability to bring a smile and happiness to any situation.
D2 was a proud member of the T.R. Nation, a group of childhood friends from the neighborhood whose bond lasted a lifetime. To name a few, the group was founded by the late Pre-Sweet, Geeski, D2, J.R., and Flasher. This group of men supported one another from childhood through adulthood. They all have a love for hip-hop. They entertained throughout the Tri-State area with Rap Music and DJ performances. To this day, they all remain friends.
On November 7, 2024, Darryl departed this life. His soul left this earthly tabernacle to transition to a better place, from which no known traveler has known to return. Darryl leaves to cherish his memory, wife: Cynthia, three children; Devon Knight (South Carolina), Shania Williams and Shamar Robert Minus, three stepchildren, Maurice (Texas), Mavis, and Kelvin, two sisters;, Cheryl Sims, (Tenn.) Charlette Williams Gilmore (Robert) aunt; Alma Harris of Tennessee, brother-in-law, St. Clair Drake, four god-sisters, three god-brothers, two godchildren, seven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
