Biography: Marylan Kendall was born to the late Acie and Rachel Kindell on July 15 th 1954 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Marylan was the sixteenth child of seventeen children. Marylan was raised in a God- fearing home and the family attended Ashley Chapel A.M.E Zion Church in Rockingham, North Carolina. Marylan started her early childhood schooling at Ashley Chapel Elementary in Rockingham, North Carolina. She migrated to New York City in 1969 where she achieved her High School degree at Theodore Roosevelt High School. After graduation, she took classes at Pace University and enrolled in Business School thereafter. Marylan worked at several clerical jobs before landing her position at Mount Sinai Hospital N.Y.C, NY.

Marylan was a member at United Methodist Church in Bronx, NY during her early years. She faithfully served on the Usher board and was a Girl Scout leader. Marylan born two loving children, Joesph and Pearlie Mae. In 1990, Marylan, her sister Louise and their children relocated to Williamsburg, Virginia. She attended John Tyler Community College in Chester, VA and studied mortuary services until unable to complete her classes due to her reoccurring seizures. Marylan accepted her call to ministry while in Virginia. She was proudly licensed and ordained by the late Pastor Bell as a Minister. In 2011, she was licensed and ordained by “God Mission Eternal Love Holy Temple Inc”. under Senior Bishop Roy Morrison as Elder Marylan Kendall. In 2013, being led by the spirit of God, Marylan and sister Bishop Louise Neal (Founder) relocated to Greensboro, NC and established their own ministry call “The Word of God and Prayer of Faith Ministries” where Elder Marylan was Co-Founder. She taught Sunday school, helped the needy, feed the homeless and ministered at the prison. In 2018, Marylan and sister relocated back to New York to be closer to family and friends. In 2021, she was licensed and ordained as Pastor under leadership Apostle Norris Davis. She continued church ministry services via live Streaming and prayer line by phone until health declined.

Marylan enjoyed reading, watching crime shows and Asian soap operas. She was very intelligent, kind hearted and truly selfless. She loved her family dearly. Her favorite song was “Believe for It” by CeCe Winans. She leaves to cherish fond memories, Two children; Joesph and Pearlie Mae, Four grandchildren; Keisan, Trinity, Jaylen, and Maleek. Two great-grandchildren; Raheem, and Ramisi. Two Siblings; brother Eugene Kindell and Sister Apostle Louise Neal. Three Sister-in-laws; Edith Kindell, Georgiana Kinnon and Jacqueline Kindell. Two “SisterNieces”; Diane and Edith Marie, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her four sisters and eleven brothers.

Marylan was a committed faithful servant who truly loved the Lord. She fought a good fight and has gone to get her reward.
