James Lee Glover

James Lee Glover

06-26-1984 - 12-12-2024

Biography: James Lee Glover was born to proud parents Geraldine-Brown-Glover-Baily and Jimmy Lee Gibson in Harlem New York on June 26th, 1984. He was the third child of four, only boy. James attended Brandeis High school in NYC, although he didn’t receive his high school diploma, he always talked about going back to get his GED. Unfortunately, he became ill before he had a chance to pursue that. His happy, vibrant life changed in 2010, when he was 26 years old. He was diagnosed with renal kidney failure.  It was devastating, the life he knew was over.  His new normal was, 3-4 times a week of dialysis, limited intakes of food & liquids, constant pain, vomiting, swelling and eventually an enlarged heart.  This has been a heartbreaking journey for our family as well. Constant hospital visits/stays from weeks to months on end. It was very painful for us to see him go through this and know there was nothing we could do, but be there for him, which we were to the very end. The last seven days of his hospital stay, we were all there, every day, all day & night. Sadly, on his oldest sister’s birthday 12/12 his heart stopped.

James had a lot of odd jobs in his short life before becoming ill. His favorite was the long road trucking. He would frequently accompany his friend, Henry, to make deliveries, state to state. He immensely enjoyed being on the open road for days and weeks at a time. In his last fourteen years, because of daily dialysis, he was known for his matching sweatsuits and hats, along with his jewelry. He enjoyed spending time with his family & friends. Whether it was just sitting playing video games or just laughing and playing music. He was a comedian all the time. James made everyone laugh even if they didn’t want to, if you were around him, you were going to laugh. James was a fighter and he fought for a long time with his illness. He was determined to be on this earth for as long as possible. He loved his family and we love him.

He leaves to cherish his memory: His two daughters, Bryanna Glover(21) and Heaven Glover(6), his parents Geraldine and Jimmy, three sisters Natasha, Tawana and Kimberly, his grandmother Margaret, his uncle’s Anthony, Carrie and Ralph, four nieces Domonique, Dyneisha, Diamond and Iesha, four nephews Oumar, Jayden, Joshua and Elijah, a  grandniece and nephew, Paige and Caleb, and a host of close cousins, Linda, Tonya, Donald, Zaquan, Asia, Jamahl, Jarod, Jeremiah, Micah, Kendall and Jordan, Damiya, Donte and Damian his step father Francis, three brother in laws Oumar Sr., Bernard and Frank and his girlfriend Destinee and a host of other Close family and friends.  He will be missed dearly!
