Biography: Clyde Spain came into this world on September 17, 1971 at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City. He was welcomed with joy by his mother Polly Spain and his Father Clyde Spain Sr. who preceded him in death a year later in 1972. He was  preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Clyde is survived by his son Mandela Muhammad and Mandela's mother Abena Williams of Orlando, Florida who is a child-hood sweetheart and life-long friend; as well as his uncle Joseph Hawkins, cousins Adam Hawkins and Rex Hawkins of New York City.  He will also be remembered by a host of out of state family members and friends. 

As a child, Clyde attended primary school at Montessori Park West and Saint Catherine’s Parochial School, Brandeis High School and Borough Manhattan Community College.  He appeared in a Sesame Street mini-movie titled "Roller Skating" 1979.

Clyde worked for the New York City Parks Department and recently began a new job at Borough Manhattan Community College until his untimely passing.

Clyde was raised to love the Lord and love the Lord he did with a life of service. He was a member of Journey Church and enjoyed studying and sharing the word with fellow true believers. Clyde loved movies, music, theatre, motorcycles, chess, backgammon, video games and traveling. 

Clyde possessed a jovial, happy personality, always telling jokes and extending a helping hand to family and friends.  He went to heaven knowing that he was loved by his family, his friends and his church.
