Biography: On Sunday, March 29, 2026, Beverly Juanita Dickerson made a peaceful transition and is now with The Lord,. Born July 9, 1946 to Reverend Leon Moses and Juanita Dickerson, Beverly was the daughter of a preacher and she was the middle child of three.
Beverly was raised in Harlem where she attended elementary, junior high and high school. In junior high school, Beverly developed a passion to work with children. While in high school, she met a young drummer by the name of Sylvester J. Randolph (whom preceded her in death). They were married on October 17, 1965 and from that union came Kevin and Zakia.
Beverly attended college at Health and Human Services, where her passion for working with children grew. Her first job was with Mount Morris Park Children’s Daycare Center. Soon after, she landed a position with the Board of Education which began her career.
Beverly attended the HBCU Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, where she graduated with her master’s degree. She retired after 30 years of service in November 2007.
She loved to travel with her siblings and daughter. In 1985, she traveled to Africa and continued traveling every year after that for 40 years. She attended church regularly, being a loyal servant of God. Beverly was truly blessed.
She now joins her late father and mother, husband Sylvester J. Randolph, her brother Ronald Dickerson and nephew Grant Dickerson all of whom have since passed.
Beverly is survived by: her younger brother Dr. Reginald Dickerson; son Kevin and daughter Zakia; nephews Brian and Justin Dickerson; along with a host of Godchildren: Dana Blocker, Laverne Stevens, Lisa Demons-Winston, Kassiem Martin, Danae Blocker and Keyanna Ellis; in addition to a host of loved ones in the community, churches and gym.
