Biography: Esther Johnson was born on August 20, 1926 in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Julius Brunson and Emma Jane Brunson.
All of Esther’s schooling was done in Sumter, South Carolina and she worked as a housekeeper in new York City.
Esther Johnson marred the late Love Johnson. She had three children: Minnie, Amos and Emma.
Esther was a faithful member of St. Philip A.M.E. Church where she served as a Pastor’s Aid, Missionary Board and sang on the choir. Esther went to church every Sunday until she was unable to attend. She always read her bible and sang her hymns until the very end.
Esther leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter , Minnie; grandchildren: Priscilla, Queenie, Robert, Amos (B.J), Timothy, Tamara and Lorraine; nineteen great-grandchildren who affectionately called her “Tabby Grandma”; eight great-great grandchildren; one grandson-in-law. One granddaughter-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
Esther was preceded in death by: her husband, Love Johnson; daughter,
Emma; grandson, Corey; and son , Amos. Gone but will never be forgotten. Rest, our sweet angel, rest.
