Biography: Eartha Wells was born in Holly Hill, South Carolina to the proud parents of George and Gussie Wells on August 11, 1950. After
migrating to New York, in time, Eartha became the proud parent of three children: Barry, Patricia and Lazetta. Later on in life, she became the proud grandparent of Barry Jr., Barry III, Brittany, Jasmine and Malik.

Eartha Wells was known for her warm spirit, fast wit and contagious smile. She brought great joy to those who were blessed enough to know her. She loved talking about politics, and how she would change the world if she was in charge. She never failed to give a helping hand to those in need. She was God sent, and her wisdom and strength will always be admired.

Eartha wells loved and lived for family. She was always planning family gatherings where the family could bond and understand the
power of “family unity.” One of Eartha’s biggest passions was dancing. She was a member of her community dance group called The Bartow Swinger. They performed at community and outside event. She loved dancing. Whenever she heard music, at home or in the streets, you would she her “popping” her shoulders with a big smile on her face - unapologetically.

One of Eartha’s biggest accomplishments was graduating from City College with a bachelor degree in the year of 1997, at the age of 47. Eartha wells past on June 24 th 2026. Her spirt lives on. She’ll be missed.
