Biography: Inez was loved by everyone she met; but there was no greater love than that of her friends and family from Spanish Harlem. She was affectionately known as “Scoot”, “Scoochie”, “Scotta Pie” or as her good friend Robina Horton would call her just plain ole “Pie”.
 
In addition to raising her own children, for several years Inez helped to raise the children of the late Bertha and Oliver Pinks: Oliver Jr., Clarence, Alphonso, Deborah, Donna and Leonard Pinks until 1975. Inez cared for the Pinks children as if they were her own.
 
Inez will be missed by her immediate family and her extended family. Inez also enjoyed the outdoor life. She enjoyed her winters in the Catskills Mountains and her summers fishing for sea bass and trout with her grandsons Richard Allen and John.

Inez was preceded in death by: her mother Malvina Brown Brooks Boyd, father Isiah Brooks, husband Glenwood Dean, sisters: Lizzy Mae Adams, Lou Ellen Griffith, Jannette Johnson, Linda Boyd and Debrah Boyd; brothers: Willie Jr. Brooks, Malcolm Boyd, Leon Boyd, Ronald Boyd and Timothy Boyd; son-in-law: Eric Jackson.
 
She is survived by: her daughters Madeline Milton, Janil Dean and Annette Dean; grandsons: Richard Rivera (Danielle Rivera), Allen Rivera (Kristy Rivera), David Dean and John Noralez (Unofficial Grandson); granddaughters: Christina Rivera, Helen Rivera, Alexis Rivera, Elisha Jackson, Essence Jackson; great-grandchildren: Madyson Rivera, Dean Rivera and Essey Kamila Huertas Jackson; nieces and nephews: Shamika Wallace, Erick Milton, Kevin Milton, Cynthia Adams, John Adams, Renee Griffith and Mathew Boyd; and a host of other family members and friends.
