Biography: Marilyn Favors was born in New York, at Harlem Hospital to the proud parents of Rose Williams and Monroe Favors on October 8, 1947. She was the first born of eight children.
Marilyn graduated from Julia Richman High School in New York. After graduating she focus on building her career and helping her family. After retiring she found her way back into school and graduated from Ashford University with a bachelor’s degree in business.
Marilyn enjoyed simple outings with her family and friends and she was easy to please. She loved to go to various restaurants enjoying her favorite foods. Besides going out, she also enjoyed time to herself playing online games such as “Farmville” and “Candy Crush” to keep her busy after her retirement. She was also a great seamstress and often made her own clothing.
She was able to achieve employment for NY State Unified Court System as a data entry clerk which she held for 40 years until she retired. Marilyn was fun, loving and humorous. Her persona was genuine and tough love, gracefulness and creativity has titled her as a Great individual that will surely be missed.
Marilyn shed her earthly body on August 2, 2018 at Montefiore Hospital. She has joined her mother, father, and brother (Kelvin).
Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory: her loving sons Mahlik , Lee (Noonie), and Vincent (Billy); her only sister Eileen; sister-in-law Josie; her brothers: Monroe (Timmy), Kenny (Popie), Mickey, Richard , and David. Three grandchildren Lezai, Leanne, and Lekeema. Her nieces and nephews: Terri, Sherelle (Dinka), Richard Jr. (Boo-Boo), Patricia (Patty), Steven, Lil Dave, D.J, and Deja. Her grand nieces and nephews: Darrelle, Damien, Tantaniqua, Tatyona, Izel Jr. (Kelvin), Darryn, Uriayah, and Hector Jr. (Ju Ju), and Doc.
Marilyn also has a host of lifelong friends all of whom she loved dearly.
