Sandra Renee Hayes

09-20-1965 - 08-15-2018

Biography: Sandra Renee Green was born on September 20, 1965 in New York City.  She was the oldest child of two daughters born to Doris Marie Cox Green and Samuel Green.

Sandra was a very delightful and obedient child.  She was also very smart in school, respectful and kind, never giving her parents any trouble during her childhood years.  Sandra attended PS 197 John B. Rushworm Elementary School, then went on to JHS 43 and completed her foundational formal education at Louis D. Brandis High School. During her teenage years, Sandra began to attend church services at the Greater Refuge Temple (Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ) in 1982 and gave her life to Christ at a very young age, having received the gift of the Holy Ghost at the tender age of “Sweet” 16.

Sandra began to be very active in the various committees and youth auxiliaries in the church, such as the Radio Choir, the Cathedral Choir (of which she served faithfully as Chaplain) and last but most importantly, Sandra became a member of the Anointed “Daughters of Jerusalem”, (where she also served DILIGENTLY and FAITHFULLY as Assistant Chaplain).  The ‘DAUGHTERS OF JERUSALEM’ was a special group established by the Pastor…Bishop William L. Bonner, as a spiritual guidance and training facility whose MAIN purpose was IMPLEMENTED INTO THE YOUTH DEPARTMENT to train the younger newly saved women in the church as aspiring Missionaries for the Lord’s service!

It was on this committee that Sister Sandra Renee Green learned to hone her skills in the Holy Ghost on how to PRAY, FAST, TARRY (work with SOULS at the altar), prepare SOULS for BAPTISIM and YES! TEACHSPEAK on the word of God, EVERY TUESDAY evening for the 6:00 PM prayer services, each week. As a younger woman Sandra Green’s lifestyle catered TOTALLY towards the causes of CHRIST.

Sandra also was diligent and practical in her natural life, she gained experience in the workforce, working at various jobs, as a Youth Counselor for a Summer Day Program, later on as a Private Nanny, Sister Sandra completed the Certified Nurse AideAssistant program at the Mid-Manhattan Adult Learning Center & received her CNA certificate. Sandra also held various secretarial and clerical positions at ST. Luke’s Hospital in Central Harlem NYC; as well as Lincoln Hospital (working specifically with the BOARDER BABIES) located in the Bronx New York.

Sister Sandra Renee Green became Mrs. Sandra Renee Hayes on September 6, 1987, marrying Brother David Hayes Sr., in Holy Matrimony officiated by Elder Charles Wright Sr., at the Greater Refuge Temple Church.

Sandra Hayes was to go on further in life to become a Mother of seven beautiful children, Daniela, David, Destiny,
Deanna, Deona, Uniece, and Unelle!

SANDRA HAYES was loved by many people! She was a communitarian! She was a life time resident of the Abraham Lincoln Public Housing and Grant Houses! Her name and persona was well established throughout the entire neighborhood. She witnessed to everyone she knew, giving out tracts and inviting them to “her” church!

Sandra’s life was one of service AND sacrifice.  She was a loving Mother…humble, patient, kind and GIVING.  Her smile was always filled with joy, peace and sunshine! But the MOST OF ALL, Sandra Hayes TAUGHT her CHILDREN the ways of God and holiness, She taught them the POWER, PURPOSE and IMPORTANCE of PRAYER!  The PROVERBS 31 LADY…VIRTUOUS Mother… Sandra Renee Hayes left her children the LEGACY OF LOVE…CHRIST the CENTER of it all.  Her children arise UP and call her BLESSED…her seed is ESTABLISHED upon the EARTH!  CHRIST THE CENTER of THEIR universe! Turning to JESUS to handle it all!

“JESUS said unto HER, I AM the resurrection AND THE LIFE: he that believes in ME, though he were dead, yet  SHALL he LIVE.”…on Wednesday evening, August 15, 2018, our dear Sister and friend, Lady  Sandra Renee Hayes went home to be with the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her FATHER, Mr. Samuel Green, GRANDMOTHER, Marie Cox. She leaves to mourn her passing, her MOTHER, Ms. Doris M.
