Biography:

Melvin Green Salahudeen Ahmad was born in Manhattan, New York to the proud parents of Calvin and Mary Green Smith on November 26th,1957; he was the second of 4 children. Melvin attended elementary school at P.S. 165 and attended Junior High (22) School at Jordan l. Mott graduating with honors.  Melvin then attended a program called OUTWARD BOUND which tested his physical and emotional    limits in challenging outdoor adventure programs. Melvin loved to make his family laugh and enjoyed  debating religious points of view. He had a love for cooking, his favorite meal was Spaghetti. Melvin held numerous jobs ending up as a Master Chef, which he had love for. Melvin was a practicing member of Islam attending MASJID KHALIL RAUF ABDUL MOSQUE, where his given name was changed to SALAHUDEEN AHMAD.
 
Salahudeen Ahmad life touched many life’s and he will be sorely missed. Proceeding him in death, his nephew, Arthur Jolley.
 
He leaves behind: his loving mother, Mary Green Smith; uncle, Robert Lee Green; brothers, Robert Green, Peter Green and Charles B. Smith; one daughter, Francis Robles; one son, Ramel Green;  nieces, Adella Adams, Alandria Adams and Alexis Adams;  sister in law, Glenda Adams; grandchildren, Nyishaqua Williams, Mark Valentine and Antoine   Gibson; great grand child, Lanyila Davis; great nieces, Vivenne Smith, Destiny Lovett and Victoria Mahoney and many other relatives and loved ones.
 
May his life be remembered forever in our memories.
