Biography: Thelma Totten was born on January 31, 1936 to the late Rubin Lee Totten and Lucy Watlington Totten, in Guilford County, North Carolina. On November 27, 2018 after declining health, Thelma was called home to her heavenly rest joining: her parents, and her two siblings Rubin Morris Totten and Donnell Totten, both formerly of Burlington, North Carolina. 

Her youthful years were spent living in North Carolina with her parents and five siblings. She was educated in the North Carolina Public School System and upon graduation from Pleasant Grove High School she migrated to New YorkCity where she worked in private industry and lived the remainder of her adult life.

Thelma was known most for her great sense of humor as well as her loving and kind manner. She made numerous friends wherever she went and will be sincerely missed by all.

She leaves behind: one daughter, Hope C. Totten (Ronald); two grandchildren, Faith and Adam Peek; two sisters: Helen V. Murrill of Baltimore, Maryland and Delcene Anette West of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, William Norris Totten (Mae Lois) of Burlington, North Carolina; a special cousin, Beverly McNeely; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

We all loved her and will miss her, but know that God loved her best.
