Biography: Mr. Charles Clarence Mason Jr. transitioned from life to eternal rest on December 7, 2019. He was born September 17, 1936 in Sussex County, Virginia and was the first born of his parents, the late Charlie Clarence Mason Sr. and the late Ida Louise Mason. Charlie was raised in Waverley, Virginia by his maternal grandparents, the late Richard and Lessie Mae Mason.
Mr. Charlie Mason moved to the Big Apple/ New York in the early 50’s. He worked at Seaman’s and Joseph Cory Furniture as a truck driver delivering furniture. His last employment before his illness was at Martha Stewart Levinson Parking Garage delivering cars to celebrities.
He is preceded in death by: his children: Ida Mason, Cheryl Mason and Doris Mason; his granddaughter, Monique Mason; his siblings: Mrs. Ida Louise M. Harrison, Mrs. Frances Marie M. Stevens and Mr. James Ernest Mason.
Mr. Mason leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Ruth Davis Mason; his children: Alphonzo Parker (Linda) of West Point, Virginia, Linda Brown (Charlie-deceased) of the Bronx, New York, Rufus Mason (JoAnn) of the Bronx, New York, Lena Lee (Octavias) of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Cedric Mason (Dee) of Sydney, Australia, Earlene Mason of Brooklyn, New York, Clarence Mason of Elmira, New York and Charlene Mason of the Bronx, New York.
Mr. Mason also leaves to cherish his memories: a mate for most of his years and the mother of three of his children, Ms. Hattie Taylor; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews and devoted friends.
