Biography:

Kevin Malcolm was born on September 18, 1955. He was the first born of four children to the proud parents of Yvonne Malcolm and the late William (Bill) Malcolm. Kevin loved and lived life to the fullest. He transitioned into eternal life on December 23, 2022, at the age of 67.

Kevin grew up in Forest Projects in the Bronx.  He made many friends, whose friendships lasted his whole life. He also mentioned, how he had several places to stay as a teenager, because he was old enough to sleep over Grandma’s house, without his brothers and sisters.

Kevin was the first Grandchild in his family. He often bragged about how lucky he was in his Grandparents eyes. When his family moved to the Throgs Neck Houses, he again had another new home.

Kevin was educated in the New York City Catholic School System, where he received his High School Diploma.

Over the years, Kevin had several jobs. After retiring as an Officer, Kevin subsequently retired from Tracey Towers. One of his favorite jobs was at the St. Dominic’s Foster Care Agency. He loved helping children. He was also very proud to work at OASIS. He loved contributing and helping individuals in the community advance. His final business endeavor was his eyeglass company, where he continued giving back to the community.

Kevin was always helping others and providing positive words of encouragement. He was very serious about the importance of education. He always let the children know they could be doctors, lawyers, scientist, or anything they wanted to be. He stressed the importance of reading and listening.  Here are a few of his favorite quotes:
•“Use your head for more than a hat rack.”
•“Don’t count that money until it’s in your hands, Period.”
•“These children today, want everything microwavable.”
Kevin was passionate about sports, fashion, cars, old school music and politics. He was a caring loving person, who would always lend a helping hand whenever and wherever he could.  His upbeat attitude and good spirit made it easy for anyone to be around him.

However, when he made up his mind, Kevin was very stubborn. His caring and loving mannerisms won the heart of his beloved wife, Gloria Malcolm. In her own words “Kevin was my Knight in Shining Armor” when her beloved Mother passed.

Kevin was a member of the Catholic church until 2005. He started attending Fellowship Baptist Church and was a devoted member, until he was too sick to attend. Every Sunday, he would watch Joel Osteen on TV.

Kevin endured many medical challenges in his life. However, he had strong faith, put his trust in God and never gave up. He fought a long hard fight, until he was called home to his heavenly father on December 23, 2022. Now, he is free from all the pain and suffering.
